The Supreme Court Case New Jersey v TLO parallels some ideals of the "Storm Center" article. During the time of Brown v Board segregation, specifically in schools, was a major issue. Neither the legislative branch nor the executive branch had done anything to deal with the problem. So it became the responsibility of the judicial branch to combat the issue. Similarly, in New Jersey v TLO there is a constitutional amendment protecting from unreasonable searches but that amendment's application in a school setting was never defined. Therefore it became the responsibility of the Supreme Court, or the judicial branch, to clarify. The Supreme Court ruled that searched can be conducted in a school setting on the basis of reasonableness, or reasonable suspicion. Also likewise Brown v Board, when the Supreme Court made their ruling their was no way of them knowing whether or not this policy would actually be enforced so it is the duty of the executive and legislative branch to help the court in enforcing their ruling so it is followed and people are protected from unreasonable searches.
